Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch new version of Swift in India by early next year.The final tests are being conducted and the product is expected during 2010 Paris Motor Show.Some changes in the basic design is expected to give a fresh look and the company will not be ready to give an all new look since Swift is one of the largest selling hatchback in India.A new set of headlamps and taillight,front grille and both bumpers are expected in new Swift.A new engine with more power of 90 bhp or more is expected in petrol swift and 80 bhp engine will be in diesel version.
UPDATE-NEW SUZUKI SWIFT WITH K SERIES ENGINE
The new K series engine is 1197 cc,4 cyllinder with a maximum power of 85 bhp @ 6000 rpm.The most important speciality of new engine is its fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl which is very important nowadays as the main opponents like Hyundai i10,Hyundai i20,etc has high fuel efficiency.
Some additional features like driver seat adjust,tilt steering,fog lamps,defogger,etc are also added and the ZXI version will have most advanced features like integrated steering audio controls,ABS,EBD,airbags,etc.
The diesel Swift will have the same DDiS engine and the other additions will be available in both versions.
